About
Katie Gray is an author, singer, counselor, and elder caregiver devoted to helping people connect with feeling, presence and Self awareness.
Inspired and compelled by her own full self-recovery from a 17 year addiction to food and bulimia, Katie utilizes the gift of her voice and wisdom to help others unravel from shame, insecurity and suffering. Her work of ‘The Empowered Heart’ is a methodology that helps assist people in the process of identifying and healing emotional wounds and is the basis of understanding that infuses her work as a counselor, author and workshop facilitator.
As a musician, she has received various recognition for her music, including time spent on the list of iTunes spotlight artists and appearances on both Jimmy Kimmel & The NBC Today Show. Numerous songs she has written and recorded have been featured on major television shows and she has collaborated and/or shared the stage with artists such as Band of Horses, Nightmares on Wax, The Polish Ambassador, Ani Difranco, Vicci Martinez, The Burned, Elephant Revival, Ooah, Emancipator, Random Rab and more.
When she is not creating music on her own, she is joined together with her husband Kurt Baumann in their band, ‘Sea Stars’. The duet has had numerous songs placed on national television, radio features on LA’s KCRW and most recently, a performance on the NBC Today show with their song, “Time” (featured on Kurt’s solo album ‘The Burned’).

Katie is co-producer of the Imagine Convergence— a conference gathering change makers, intellectuals, innovators and cultural creatives to explore cross-disciplinary solutions to global complexities.

In support of the One Billion Rising organization, Katie partnered with Eve Ensler to tour India, where she spoke and sang out against violence and abuse towards women.

As one of the lead voices in the English dubbed Anime classic, ‘Hellsing’, Katie (better known as “K.T. Gray”) has performed the voice-over role of “Seras Victoria” since 2001.

Since 2014, Katie has been an active caregiver for her mother with dementia, re-awakening the ancient tradition of caring for the elders.
